Law Society Of England And Wales The Law Society is the representative and regulatory body for solicitors of England and Wales. This site is an excellent source of legal commentary and information for practitioners, students and researchers alike.




Law Society Of Scotland offers information for the general public on Scots Law and a History and Structure of the Courts. There is a comprehensive description of 40 legal topics called Dial-a-Law and a directory of all Scottish Lawyers which can be used to find all lawyers in, say, Aberdeen, as well as to find particular individuals or firms. The list can be used to find accredited experts (solicitors) in specific fields of law, such as IP, employment and so on.




Inland Revenue Commissioners The Inland Revenue is responsible, under the overall direction of Treasury Ministers, for the efficient administration of income tax, tax credits, corporation tax, capital gains tax, petroleum revenue tax, inheritance tax, national insurance contributions and stamp duties. The Department's job is to provide an effective and fair tax service to the country and Government. The site also provides information a variety of taxation issues.





BAILII - The pilot site of the British and Irish Legal Information Institute(BAILII) includes 14 databases covering 5 jurisdictions: 400 megabytes of legal materials and over 75,000 searchable documents with about 2 million hypertext links. The site contains information including UK and Irish Judgments as well as a comprehensive list of statutes and legislation.
